Sonic the Hedgehog (The Fastest Thing Alive or Classic Sonic) is a chronological counterpart of the modern version of Sonic the Hedgehog who comes from another dimension that takes place in the past. Like Modern Sonic the Hedgehog, Classic Sonic has the ability to run extremely fast at the speed of sound, curl up into a ball to attack his enemies, conjure up a tornado, etc. Classic Sonic first appeared in the 1991 game, "Sonic the hedgehog," while making numerous appearances in various game sequels such as "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" and other games (and even cartoons) from the 90s. Years later, after the 90s decade, he reappeared in "Sonic Generations" where he meets his modern self to foil Dr. Eggman's schemes. Ever since then, he has desired to venture alongside his friends and even reappeared in "Sonic Forces."

In M.U.G.E.N 1.0, Sonic TFTA's gameplay is based on SSBU, having his hitsparks, hitsounds, and effects from there while containing a few DBZ elements. His moveset is also heavily based on SSBU, while also having moves that resemble the sonic 3/sonic & knuckles games and references other M.U.G.E.N sonic versions (notable examples are from authors, SeanAtly and ABAB). Oh, and he can walljump too. A lot of his winquotes are from the TV cartoons themselves, while a few are edited or made up by me.
